Ded Engine - s/t
Considering what must have been an incredibly low budget and a band name that can only be described as moronic, I suppose the cover of Ded Engine's self-titled album isn't that bad. On second thought, yes it is. You'd think an old engine block with sparklers inside would be the worst thing on the cover, but it pales beside that logo that was likely designed by a sixth-grader. Check out the back cover to see the "I wanna be scary" dorks in the band before listening and the music will actually be a pleasant surprise. (I just hope the singer doesn't come after me with that switchblade for writing this.)

I can't believe you didn't mention that the bass player called himself "Marky Desade". The cover is weak, by they look like any other underground metal band between 1984 and 1987. Slayer looked a lot goofier on their debut as did Destruction and Sodom. I know I have heard this, but don't remember it. I would like to hear it again some time.
I feel like I'm the one to blame for that one? Was that mine originally? I know I remember this album, especially when you brought it up, but I haven't heard it since the 80s. Either way, Krokus' Heart Attack album cover is better than this, and probably musically better too.
David - As Ray admits above, I got it from him. It was one of those albums that came out during the flood of metal releases during the 80s and I think we all took a lot of chances on new things. This one wasn't the biggest bust by a long shot even though it looks so silly now.
Mark - You're right, I should have mentioned it, because I thought it was funny too. If you check out their site, Marky Desade died back in the 90s (it doesn't say how). It also says that he always claimed to be a vegetarian, but was once caught buying three hot dogs for himself at 7-11 or something.
Ray - Yeah, it was yours. I think it was one that Record & Tape Traders didn't want when you sold a bunch of albums to get that Ramones bootleg. It's funny you mention Krokus, because that's who I thought of while listening to the album.
Wow! I thought I was the only one that had this album, LOL! Cover is bad but the back is worse.
